Although many Hypnotherapists state that they can help you using alternative techniques, such as TFT and NLP, they may not be trained in these methods, so ensure you look for the official membership of the relevant Professional Bodies, after all, you would only allow a registered CORGI engineer to work on your gas appliances, so only allow truly qualified and registered individuals to work on your mind and body.

Hypnotherapy is a very powerful, life-changing tool, especially when used in coordination with other therapeutic techniques, such as NLP and TFT.

You will find links within this website to inform you of all the information you require. However, should you wish to discuss anything further and in more detail, regarding anything specific, our contact details can be found in the ‘Contact Us’ area, and we will happily discuss your requirements further or call to arrange an appointment.

About Hypnosis & Hypnotherapy

There are many fears and misunderstandings regarding the use of hypnosis and hypnotherapy, and the myths and mysteries that surround hypnosis are totally undeserved.

This page will help to reassure you that what happens is very normal, certainly nothing magical, with generally predictable results.

Hypnosis is usually induced by the use of the therapist's voice, though you are unlikely to actually feel hypnotised. There is no such thing as a 'hypnotised feeling', though many people find their senses to be far more alert than usual - you will certainly retain control at all times throughout the hypnotic session.

There is no form of unconsciousness and nobody can be made to do anything that they do not want to do; a person in hypnosis is aware of everything happening around them, aware of themselves and their therapist, and will retain a full and accurate memory of everything afterwards.

Hypnosis, a totally natural phenomenon, is simply a very comfortable and relaxed state during which it is quite easy to converse sensibly with the therapist. Almost anyone can enter the hypnotic state easily and this is only dependant upon the client. The success of hypnotherapy really does depend upon you, the client. If you allow yourself to enter this totally relaxed state of hypnosis, then you can benefit from the therapy that follows.

Imagine driving a car on a journey you have travelled many times. You look at the local signs and wonder how you reached this point of the journey. You have been in a mild hypnotic state. It is totally natural.

Hypnotherapy is a reliable and safe therapeutic technique which is centuries old and is recognised by many branches of orthodox medicine as a valuable alternative to drugs, to accelerate healing, and to help combat pain.

Whilst not a panacea for all ills, hypnotherapy can be an effective treatment method for a great many problems where psychological factors are involved – see our links for further information.
