With 20+ years experience (since 1982) in healthcare provision, specializing in Pathology, and experience as both a practitioner and as a senior project manager, advising many of the UK’s largest hospitals, at times of change, new builds and major installations. Including projects up to the value of £50 million.

With 10+ years as a multi-disciplinary Laboratory Practitioner and 10+ years as a Senior Sales and Strategic Development Manager, Nick has worked with Blue-Chip Healthcare Organisations, PFI (Private Finance Initiative) Consortia and all the major healthcare consultancy companies within the UK – namely Hiltron Ltd, Parker Consultancy Services Ltd and Martin James Medical Ltd (MJM).


Planning and Design:

Working closely with all departments, senior management, clinical practitioners, estate managers and all other stake holders.

Co-ordinating all aspects of planning, design & equipping with external contractors, to ensure optimum delivery of Pathology Services, and the highest level of professional care being delivered to the patient community.

Project Management:

Bringing a vast amount of experience in dealing with commercial organisations, Nick has been involved with both aspects of procurement. Having spent many years in senior sales positions (1892 – 2005) and leading projects up to the value of £50mil over a 15 year contract period. Nick has managed, led and mentored many highly successful Project Teams, winning some of the highest valued contracts offered by the UK NHS within Pathology.

On the procurement side, Nick has advised Laboratories both within UK and overseas, on major procurement projects.

Having led procurement projects up to the value of US $6.2 mil, including all aspects of Laboratory planning, design and drawing.

The Irbil Central Medical Laboratory was a new build Central Medical Laboratory. This project included:

Identification of suppliers of equipment and negotiation of pricing, delivery, installation and training.

  • Bristol Pathology Feasibility Study
